S. George, widely recognized in the Malayalam film industry as George Sebastian. A talented Indian makeup artist and film producer, he’s renowned for his extensive work, notably collaborating with Mammootty across more than 25 films. His association started on-screen and evolved into a personal bond, becoming Mammootty’s dedicated makeup man.
Born to M. O. Devasia, George’s contributions have earned accolades such as the Kerala Film Critics Association Award for Best Makeup for ‘Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha’ (2010). He also received the prestigious Kerala State Film Award for Best Film (as a producer) for ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ (2022).”
George, born in Alleppey, is the son of the renowned M.O. Devasia, a prominent makeup artist in the Malayalam Cinema industry. His educational journey began in Chennai, and he subsequently ventured into the world of Malayalam cinema as his father’s assistant. George is happily married to Usha George, and together they are proud parents of two daughters named Cynthia George and Cylvia George.
George’s journey commenced as an assistant makeup artist alongside his father, M.O. Devasia, during the making of the 1991 film ‘Neelagiri,’ directed by I V Sasi. This project marked the beginning of his enduring collaboration with the esteemed actor Mammootty.
